While the original Footprint 01 established a new benchmark for compact professional monitors, the Gen2 version advances the platform with a fully tri-amplified 3-way architecture. Each driver is powered by its own dedicated Class D amplifier, allowing the system to operate with greater efficiency, lower distortion, and improved dynamic control across the entire frequency spectrum.

Reengineered Drivers with Dual-Force Low End

At the core of the Footprint 01 Gen2 is a newly developed driver set, including a dual ring radiator tweeter, a 5-inch aluminum cone midrange, and dual 8-inch aluminum cone woofers. The woofers are integrated using Barefoot’s Dual-Force technology, mounting them in direct opposition to cancel cabinet vibration at the source. The result is tighter bass, improved transient response, and a more stable, focused soundstage.

SPOC Conversion and Advanced DSP

The updated DSP platform incorporates Barefoot’s patented Spectrally Optimized Conversion technology, which places analog crossover filtering ahead of digital conversion. This approach preserves high-frequency detail, improves signal-to-noise performance, and delivers higher effective resolution with ultra-low latency. Imaging is more precise, bass extension is deeper and more controlled, and translation to the outside world becomes more predictable.

MEME Voice Emulation

The Footprint 01 Gen2 includes Barefoot’s MEME voice emulation, allowing you to instantly switch between multiple monitoring perspectives. From a precise flat reference to voicings inspired by classic mix cubes, familiar white-cone nearfields, and consumer hi-fi systems, MEME lets you evaluate how your mix will translate without changing speakers or moving from your listening position.

Refined Cabinet Design

The sealed cabinet has been acoustically refined with increased internal volume, improved bracing, and full acoustic damping throughout. Constructed from medium-density fiberboard using stress-assembly techniques, the enclosure minimizes resonance while maintaining rigidity. A textured gray polyester finish completes the clean, professional aesthetic and contributes to long-term durability.
