Drawmer MC7.1 Surround Monitor Controller
Drawmer MC7.1: Ultimate Control, Accurate & Transparent Monitoring for Surround and Stereo
The Drawmer MC7.1 Surround Monitor Controller is a versatile solution for 7.1, 5.1, and stereo applications, providing all the mix-checking features required for surround recordings without compromising on stereo monitoring. Built on Drawmer’s legacy of precision and transparency, the MC7.1 offers pristine audio reproduction and is designed with a rugged desktop wedge form factor, similar to the popular MC3.1.
All the Control in a Desktop Box
The MC7.1 serves as a powerful surround monitor controller while also offering excellent stereo monitoring capabilities, ensuring it fits perfectly into studios handling both film audio post-production and music recording. Aside from its surround monitoring features, the MC7.1 also provides the same comprehensive set of stereo mix check functions found in the MC3.1, which can be applied to stereo or any of the surround channels.
Preset Volume Control for Consistency
A secondary preset volume control on the front panel allows repeatable calibrated output levels for the monitors. This feature ensures that the engineer can listen to the mix at the same predetermined volume, time after time, without having to meticulously adjust the volume controls.
Comprehensive Connectivity
The MC7.1 features two sets of balanced 7.1 inputs (one via balanced jacks and one via a 25-pin D-sub), a 7.1 through output for routing to a multitrack recorder, a balanced stereo input, and a convenient front-panel AUX input with level control. Outputs include balanced 7.1 speaker outputs, an independent stereo main output, and a dedicated mono/sub output, ensuring support for any speaker setup from mono to stereo to full surround configurations.
Flexible Surround and Stereo Monitoring
The MC7.1 provides the ability to mix down the surround mix to FL and FR speakers or the independent stereo main speakers, allowing for comprehensive monitoring flexibility. You can easily focus on specific surround channels, such as the rear channels or center, by routing them to the stereo mains. The mix-down capabilities include surround-to-stereo, surround-to-mono, and the ability to solo individual channels for in-depth analysis.
Expanded Mix Checking Capabilities
The MC7.1 features an extensive set of mix-checking functions, including low, mid, and high solo switches, which help evaluate how different frequency ranges interact in the mix. Additional features include speaker level matching, switchable mono/sub output, and the ability to swap the left and right channels. Built-in talkback capabilities are also included, with an internal microphone, external microphone input, and footswitch operation for hands-free use.
Tough & Secure Build Quality
With a rugged steel chassis and high-quality components, the MC7.1 is built to withstand the demands of any studio environment. Its desktop wedge form factor, combined with a Kensington security slot, ensures that it is both stylish and secure, providing reliable performance for years to come.
Accurate Sound Reproduction
Accuracy is paramount for Drawmer monitor controllers, and the MC7.1 is no exception. The all-analog design provides pristine audio reproduction without the need for software reboots or firmware updates, allowing users to rely on it for consistent and dependable monitoring across surround and stereo projects.
