Drawmer SP2120 Speaker Protector

Conform to Noise at Work Regulations – Key-Holder Access Only

The Drawmer SP2120 Speaker Protector is a 1U, two-channel processor that offers strict level control and tremendous peace of mind for contractors, installers, and venues. Its primary purpose is to eliminate the possibility of unauthorized excessive sound pressure levels that could cause damage to both speaker drivers and amplifier electronics. Only maintenance engineers and venue managers hold the key, ensuring that maximum volume levels cannot be tampered with. The SP2120 is ideal for venues like clubs, theatres, pubs, schools, and universities, helping them comply with local noise regulations.

Precision Level Control

The SP2120 features an integral security lock on the front panel to guarantee that adjustments are implemented by key holders only. In the unlocked mode, two front panel pre-sets are accessible for adjustment by the installer. The first pre-set calibrates the 16-segment Left/Right bargraphs to the incoming audio, determining the point at which protection processing begins. The second pre-set defines the absolute maximum volume level that the system is allowed to reach. If the SP2120 receives signal levels exceeding this set point, transparent protection circuitry activates to maintain the specified system volume without compromising sound quality.

Reliable Speaker Protection

Drawmer’s SP2120 leverages over 25 years of experience in designing industry-standard dynamic processing devices. It employs a combination of multiple time constant circuitry and automatic gain control (AGC), allowing small overloads to sound louder while preventing damaging spikes. Unlike other systems that might use crude shutdown mechanisms, the SP2120 maintains sound integrity and avoids disruptive interruptions.
