Ex Machina Poseidon is a compact passive subwoofer pair designed exclusively to extend Selene into a full 3-way monitoring system. Engineered as a true system component rather than a standalone sub, Poseidon integrates directly with Selene’s EXCore amplifier and DSP, adding deeper low-frequency extension and increased headroom without introducing complexity, phase issues, or external bass management.

At the core of Poseidon is a high-excursion 16cm Epique MMAG driver, capable of delivering controlled, musical low end from an impressively small enclosure. Integration is handled through a zero-phase LR4 crossover at 150 Hz, preserving Selene’s phase coherence and transient accuracy while maintaining a seamless transition between monitors and subwoofers. The result is low-frequency performance that behaves like part of the main speaker system—not a detached bass source.

Because Poseidon contains no internal amplification or DSP, all power, crossover alignment, time alignment, and calibration are managed entirely by Selene’s EXCore unit. When connected, EXCore automatically applies the correct system configuration, ensuring consistent behavior across immersive, stereo, and low-frequency-critical workflows. Over-the-air firmware and calibration updates applied to EXCore extend to the complete Selene + Poseidon system, allowing performance to evolve over time.
