Considered the holy grail of studio dynamics processors, it is a masterpiece from the golden age of record production when money was no barrier to build the best of the best so that music would jump off the record and into our hearts and souls.
This piece comes to us from one of the most meticulous collectors of music history. It has been fully inspected and prior to shipping will be serviced, biased and packed by Fredo Oresto, our in-house tech and lead tech for EastWest Studios.

The chassis of this 670 has been rebuilt by Scutchfield Metal Shaping (google them). One of the top, hand metal shaping shops in the world. Ed Scutchfield rebuilt 90% of the metal work for Jim Kimberly’s 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider which suffered a roll over accident. Following the rebuild (which was exactly as Ferrari would have done in 1953), this Ferrari broke the auction record at Pebble Beach’s Concours de Elegance in 2013 selling for over nine million dollars. Scutchfield is also the only metal shaping shop in the world with the license to build the Chaparral 2E. The Chaparral they built has been featured at the Petersen Automotive Museum. The same care and attention to detail was applied when Ed rebuilt this Fairchild chassis. The electronics were restored by Vintage King in the prime era of their vintage restorations circa 2019.
This is certainly one of the best examples of a Fairchild 670 the world has seen in the past many decades. The new owner can buy with confidence that Providence Sound and Vision in collaboration with Fredo Oresto will ensure quality and confidence with this investment grade piece of music history.
The rating of “excellent” is taking the age and restoration into consideration. There are some blemishes in the paint which is to be expected with a piece of this age. The paint might be considered “very good” but the structure and electronics are in “excellent condition”.
