The Grace Design m701 Base Unit is the foundation of a powerful, modular, high-channel-count audio interface system built for modern recording facilities. Designed as Grace Design’s most advanced AD/DA platform to date, the m701 delivers reference-quality conversion within a flexible architecture that scales from streamlined in-the-box workflows to large hybrid studios.

At its core, the m701 is a 2U chassis engineered around Grace Design’s decades-long expertise in analog circuit design, clocking, and power supply architecture. While today’s converter chips have reached a mature baseline of performance, the surrounding analog design is what defines transparency, depth, and musicality. The m701 continues Grace Design’s legacy of open, natural-sounding conversion with exceptional detail and accuracy.

The base unit provides eight card slots for optional 8-channel ADC, DAC, microphone preamp, and digital interface modules. This modular approach allows studios to build exactly the I/O configuration they need today while retaining the ability to expand in the future.
