Heiserman Audio H47(fet) Microphone
Classic Sound
Versatile, smooth, and detailed — the Heiserman H47(fet) is a nod to the classic 47 Fet, which was originally designed as a phantom-powered version of the 47 tube mic. The H47 faithfully recreates the sound of the vintage units and excels in all the same uses. Two years in the making, the H47(fet) was developed alongside and compared extensively to an original vintage unit. Whether you’re a new user or someone experienced with the original vintage mic, the sound will leave you impressed.
Thanks to its smooth, full response, and gentle presence boost, the H47(fet) is well-suited to be your main studio mic. If you’re looking for a dedicated mic for vocals or kick drum, the H47(fet) is the perfect choice!
Modern Design
Heiserman’s ‘no compromise’ commitment to quality means getting the details right. From the start, the H47(fet) was designed and manufactured in the USA. Full control over every aspect of the mic’s construction, from the capsule to the head basket, ensures that the H47(fet) sounds incredible, looks stunning, and feels amazing in your hands. This is a premium microphone through and through.
The Heart of the Microphone – The HK47 Capsule
Unlike most mic companies, Heiserman designs, manufactures, and assembles its own capsules. Keeping everything in-house has allowed extensive refinement of the HK47 capsule, reaching the pinnacle of smooth, full, and present sound. It doesn’t get any better than this!
The Circuit
The H47(fet) is true to the original circuit and features 100% through-hole components, including modern, low-noise FETs, making this mic exceptionally quiet. It also features high-quality Wima film caps, precision resistors, as well as polystyrene and tantalum caps per the original schematic.
Like the 47 Fet, the H47(fet) features two separate pad switches, one -10dB, and one -6dB. Combining the two pads has been a secret weapon for capturing incredible kick drum tones. The custom-made transformer, unique to the H47(fet), ensures flawless performance. The microphone also includes a 200Hz high-pass filter switch located on the bottom.
The Case
The H47(fet) ships in a Pelican case with custom-molded foam. Laser cut from cross-linked polyethylene, this foam ensures shockproof and waterproof protection for the microphone. It’s practical and looks great, making it a much better option than the traditional wooden box cases often used with vintage microphones.
