Hendy Amps Maor Appelbaum Signature Series “The Oven” Stereo Tone Conditioner

The Oven is a stereo tone conditioner that adds warmth, size, depth, and saturation to any source. Developed from internationally acclaimed mastering engineer Maor Appelbaum’s creative concepts and built with Hendy Amps’ expertise in unique analog processing, this hybrid tube and solid-state processor handles individual tracks, stems, groups, stereo busses, and mastering chains with equal authority. The Temp control drives the tube and solid-state sections with variable intensity (Low or High range), while the Cook control pushes the pentode tube stage for thick, harmonically rich saturation. The Bake/Broil switch alters tube voicing and transient response, shifting from full dynamic transparency to natural compression with increased saturation complexity. Three Burn controls (Low, Mid, Top) engage the entire circuit as a holistic processor for broad tonal shaping, with each band offering two voicing options via Burn Type switches. The Bunsen switch expands Top Burn range for four different high-frequency options, while Sizzle adds boost-only air enhancement. The Burned switch narrows bandwidth and increases distortion for lo-fi treatments.

Key Features:

  • Hybrid Tube and Solid-State Saturation: Temp control drives combined tube and solid-state sections with Low or High range settings, enabling everything from subtle enhancement to aggressive saturation with small adjustments yielding significant tonal shifts.
  • Pentode Tube Stage with Voicing: Cook control pushes the pentode tube for thick, harmonically rich saturation with Elec/Gas switch providing subtle clarity or bold thickness, while Bake/Broil alters transient response from dynamic transparency to natural compression.
  • Three-Band Burner System: Low Burn, Mid Burn, and Top Burn controls engage the entire circuit as a holistic processor for driving saturation in specific frequency bands, with each band offering two voicing options via Burn Type switches.
  • Extended Top-End Control: Bunsen switch provides expanded Top Burn range for four different high-frequency tonal options, critical for dialing in presence and harmonic enhancement in mixes and masters.
  • Sizzle Air Enhancement: Boost-only control with two intensity modes adds upper harmonic air and openness to tracks without excessive brightness.
  • Flow Output Control and Calibration: Flow adjusts output level to prevent clipping downstream gear, while left and right calibration knobs match stereo balance or alter tonal response by adjusting saturation drive.
  • Burned Lo-Fi Mode: Dedicated switch narrows frequency bandwidth and increases distortion for lo-fi treatments and creative sound design applications.
