Lauten Audio Atlantis FC-387 Multi-Pattern FET Condenser Microphone

The Lauten Audio Atlantis FC-387 is a multi-pattern FET condenser microphone built around a 38mm dual-diaphragm capsule and the same polypropylene capacitor, U.S.-made FET, and custom-wound transformer signal path found in the Clarion FC-357—with the addition of Multi-Voicing, a switch that selects between discrete analog circuit paths to change the character of the microphone at the source. The larger 38mm capsule design uses physics-based geometry to emulate the tonal character of a complete signal chain, extending frequency response to 20Hz and contributing to a self-noise floor below 12dB(A) with a 130dB maximum SPL. Three selectable polar patterns—cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8—cover the range of standard studio recording configurations. The Atlantis FC-387 is designed and built in Northern California, finished in a Cerekote ceramic coating, and ships in a wooden case with shock mount.

Key Features

  • 38mm dual-diaphragm capsule — larger capsule geometry than the Clarion FC-357; designed to emulate the tonal character of a complete analog signal chain through physics-based transducer design; dual-diaphragm construction enables three selectable polar patterns
  • Multi-Voicing switch — selects between discrete analog circuit paths with a single switch; changes the tonal character and response of the microphone without additional outboard equipment or mic changes
  • U.S.-made low-noise FET signal path — self-noise below 12dB(A); 130dB maximum SPL; 120dB dynamic range minimum; polypropylene capacitors and resistors throughout for low-distortion performance
  • Three selectable polar patterns — Cardioid, Omnidirectional, Figure-8
  • Custom-wound output transformer — transformer-balanced output; <200Ω output impedance
  • Cerekote ceramic finish — durable ceramic polymer coating
  • Designed and built in Northern California
  • Includes wooden case and shock mount
