The Morton Microphone Systems KickTone is a dynamic cardioid microphone designed specifically for bass drums and other low-frequency instruments. It features a dual-concentric diaphragm system—combining a lightweight hemp diaphragm for deep subsonic frequencies and a co-axial dynamic element for capturing high-frequency transients. This design delivers a punchy, well-defined sound with a frequency response from 20 Hz to 10 kHz and a maximum SPL of 175 dB. The KickTone can be mounted on a standard mic stand or directly onto a bass drum’s resonant head using a proprietary slide bracket that quick-connects to any KickPort, offering enhanced isolation and a cleaner stage appearance.
