The Overstayer Stereo Field Effect Model 3706 is a stereo FET limiter/compressor that combines classic FET compression with discrete analog harmonics stages, integrating both into a single processing chain with ganged stereo controls. Multiple compression ratios span from subtle to hard limiting, and the wide-ranging attack and release options allow the envelope to be shaped precisely before the signal hits the harmonics stages—keeping the full character of the source intact even under significant gain reduction. A parallel blend control lets the compression and harmonic coloration be applied as aggressively as needed and balanced back against the dry signal to taste. An external sidechain loop provides additional shaping flexibility or can be used to bypass compression entirely, routing signal through the analog harmonics stages only. Nonlinear mode engages an alternate, more aggressive compression character for creative dynamic textures beyond the standard FET response.
