Peluso R-14

The Peluso R-14 is a vintage-style ribbon microphone designed to capture the classic sound of early RCA microphones. Featuring long ribbon geometry, the R-14 uses a thin corrugated aluminum ribbon tensioned between two rare earth neodymium magnets. This design induces a current in the ribbon itself, creating the microphone’s output signal. The ribbon is positioned slightly forward of the magnet center, providing a subtle low-end roll-off on the backside to counter proximity effect when needed. The R-14 delivers rich, warm, and silky smooth sound, with an un-hyped natural quality that takes EQ beautifully. It’s an ideal complement to the condensers in your microphone collection, offering very low self-noise and the ability to handle high SPL levels.
