Peluso SR-14
The Peluso SR-14 is a stereo ribbon microphone designed to capture the classic vintage sound of early RCA ribbon microphones. Built with two complete R-14 microphones in one body, the upper ribbon element can rotate up to 90 degrees, allowing for stereo recording techniques such as the Blumlein technique and mid-side setups. The SR-14 features long ribbon geometry with a thin corrugated aluminum ribbon tensioned between rare earth neodymium magnets. This design produces a clean, balanced output with a warm, rich, and silky smooth sound, while a subtle low-end roll-off on the backside counters proximity effect. With very low self-noise and high SPL handling, the SR-14 is an un-hyped, natural-sounding microphone that takes EQ beautifully, making it the perfect stereo complement to condenser microphones in your collection.
