Radial Engineering EXTC 500 Series Reamp

The Radial Engineering EXTC is a versatile 500 series module that bridges the gap between professional audio equipment and guitar effects pedals. This innovative interface allows you to seamlessly incorporate effects pedals into your mix, enabling endless creative possibilities for reamping and enhancing recorded tracks. Designed with Radial’s signature transformer isolation and class-A buffer, the EXTC delivers pristine audio quality and eliminates hum and buzz, making it an essential tool for studio professionals and musicians alike.

Key Features:

  • Balanced Interface: Optimizes pro audio gear to work seamlessly with guitar effects pedals.
  • Send & Receive Controls: Adjust send and return levels to ensure an optimized signal path.
  • Transformer Isolation: Eliminates hum and buzz from ground loops for clean audio performance.
  • Creative Tool: Enables effects pedals to be used in mixes for unique and innovative sound design.

Reamp and Mix Through Your Pedals

The EXTC-500 takes the balanced line-level output of your recording interface and converts it to an instrument-level high-Z output, optimized for guitar effects pedals. Reamp any track through your pedalboard, then return the processed signal to the EXTC, which boosts it back to balanced line-level for seamless integration into your recording interface. Add distortion to vocals, flange to violins, fuzz to piano, or explore countless other creative possibilities.

Applications

  • Reamping Tracks: Send dry tracks through the EXTC to feed your effects pedals. Add zest to vocal tracks, wah to a Hammond, or an envelope follower to a kick drum for dynamic creative effects.
  • Adding Growl to Vocals: Use the EXTC with a mic preamp like the PowerPre, then blend in just the right amount of distortion from a pedal such as the Tonebone Trimode for a gritty vocal tone.
  • Recording Direct: Connect a guitar or bass to a DI like the JDVPre, send the signal through your pedals via the EXTC, and then return it to the recording interface with a JDX for speaker cabinet emulation.

The Radial Engineering EXTC 500 Series Reamp is a powerful creative tool for reamping and integrating effects pedals into professional audio workflows. Whether enhancing vocals, instruments, or exploring unique sonic textures, the EXTC makes it easy to use guitar pedals in new and exciting ways.
