The 5045 Primary Source Enhancer is a unique, two-channel analog tool designed to increase the “gain before feedback” in live sound environments by up to 20dB. Unlike digital suppressors that can degrade sonic quality, the 5045 operates on a 100% analog principle, reducing background noise and feedback without negatively impacting the musicality or integrity of the source signal. Rupert Neve Designs created this unit as an indispensable solution for houses of worship, stadiums, and performance halls where clarity and volume are paramount.
Incredible Gain Increase: By attenuating the signal when the primary source is not present, the 5045 allows microphones to be raised significantly higher in the mix before feedback occurs, ensuring vocalists and speakers are heard clearly.
Pure Analog Signal Path: Built around custom Rupert Neve Designs input and output transformers, the 5045 avoids the artifacts of digital processing and filtering. This results in the most transparent and natural-sounding feedback reduction available on the market.
Intuitive Depth Control: The Depth knob determines the maximum amount of attenuation applied (up to -20dB) once the signal falls below the threshold. This allows the engineer to find the perfect balance between feedback suppression and a natural decay.
Versatile Time Constants: Featuring six selectable time constants (A through F), the 5045 allows for precise control over how quickly the attenuation engages and releases. This ensures the unit can be tailored to everything from fast-paced speech to slow, melodic vocals.
RMS and Peak Detection: Users can toggle between RMS mode for a smooth, averaged response and Peak mode for faster transient detection. This flexibility makes the 5045 effective for a wide variety of sound sources and performance styles.
Simple “Plug and Play” Operation: With a minimal control set and a dedicated Process Active LED for visual feedback, the 5045 is designed for rapid adjustment on-the-fly, even by less experienced operators.
Proven Professional Performance: The 5045 is trusted nightly on the world’s largest stages, utilized by engineers for major touring artists and high-profile broadcast events to keep stage bleed and feedback out of the primary vocal microphones.
