The RNDI represents the first standalone direct interface worthy of the Rupert Neve name. Designed to capture the full harmonic depth and three-dimensional character of any source, the RNDI utilizes a custom-designed output transformer and a discrete Class-A FET input stage. Whether used for bass, guitar, acoustic instruments, or professional line-level playback, the RNDI delivers a powerful and vibrant sound that consistently stands out in both critical studio sessions and high-pressure live environments.
Signature Transformer Tone: At the heart of the RNDI is a custom Rupert Neve-designed output transformer. This component provides exceptional galvanic isolation while introducing the musical harmonics and dimension that define the company’s legendary large-format consoles.
Discrete Class-A FET Input Stage: The RNDI features a high-impedance (2.2M Ohm) Class-A FET input stage powered by +48V phantom power. This discrete design ensures no crossover distortion is added, resulting in a rich harmonic profile dominated by pleasing 2nd and 3rd order harmonics.
Massive Input Headroom: In Instrument Mode, the RNDI handles +20.5 dBu, making it ideal for high-output synthesizers and professional audio interfaces. In Speaker Mode, the headroom increases to +41 dBu, allowing the unit to capture the output of a 1000-watt power amplifier.
Superior Line-Driving Capability: The low-impedance transformer-coupled output stays below 40 Ohms, enabling the RNDI to drive cable runs exceeding 100 feet with zero loss in high-frequency detail or signal integrity.
Groundbreaking Speaker Mode: By engaging Speaker Mode, engineers can capture the full tone of an instrument, preamp, and power amplifier stage before the signal hits the speaker cabinet. This is invaluable for avoiding bleed in live settings or for use with modern amp/speaker emulation hardware.
Bulletproof Construction: Rupert Neve Designs utilized a rugged, solid steel chassis with an industrial-grade powder coating. The frame is designed to protect the recessed connectors and switches from the rigors of the road.
Phase Coherence and Consistency: The RNDI is engineered for unrivaled phase alignment across the entire frequency spectrum, ensuring a natural, present sound that translates perfectly regardless of the connected microphone preamp or interface.
