Tegeler Audio Creme RC

The Tegeler Audio Creme RC is a 2U stereo bus processor combining a passive Pultec-style equalizer and a VCA compressor in a single remote-controllable unit, with servomotor-driven potentiometers synced bidirectionally to a DAW plugin (VST, AU, AAX) via Ethernet. The EQ provides switchable bass boost (20–200 Hz) and high boost (10–24 kHz) at up to 5 dB, while the VCA compressor offers wide-ranging control over attack, release, and ratio alongside a three-position sidechain high-pass filter at 60, 120, or 200 Hz. A Creme release mode delivers a faster, more assertive alternative to the standard auto-release, and the order of EQ and compressor in the signal chain is switchable, giving the Creme RC flexibility across both mixing and mastering applications. Because it connects via Ethernet, there are no USB cable-length limitations, wireless operation via a standard router is fully supported, and opening a project in the DAW automatically returns all motorized controls to their saved positions.

Key Features

  • Passive Pultec-style equalizer — the EQ section uses a filter circuit based on the proven Pultec principle, with switchable bass boost frequencies from 20 to 200 Hz and high boost frequencies from 10 to 24 kHz, each adjustable up to 5 dB. The passive circuit design produces the smooth, non-fatiguing curves that have made Pultec-style EQs a standard in mix bus and mastering applications.
  • VCA compressor with switchable ratio, attack, and release — six attack settings (0.1–30 ms) and five release options (100 ms–1.2 s plus Auto) give precise control over dynamic response, with ratio choices of 1.5, 2, 4, and 10 covering everything from light program glue to heavier limiting.
  • Creme release mode — an alternative to the standard auto-release, Creme mode responds faster and more aggressively, making it well-suited to the transient density and rhythmic demands of modern music production.
  • Sidechain high-pass filter — 60 / 120 / 200 Hz — three sidechain filter positions prevent low-frequency content from driving unnecessary compression, keeping the dynamic response consistent even with heavy bass in the signal. The 200 Hz option extends the original 60/120 Hz choices for more aggressive low-end filtering.
  • Switchable EQ and compressor order — the position of the EQ and compressor in the signal chain can be swapped, allowing the EQ to shape the signal before or after compression depending on the processing goal.
  • Servomotor-driven potentiometers with full DAW session recall — all controls are motorized and sync in both directions with the DAW plugin. Opening a saved project returns every physical knob to its saved position automatically; parameter automation is also fully supported.
  • Ethernet remote control — the Creme RC connects via Ethernet rather than USB, eliminating cable-length constraints and enabling control from the device’s internal web server, the DAW plugin, or wirelessly via a standard network router.
  • Internal power supply with toroidal transformer — the self-contained power supply with toroidal transformer reduces noise and simplifies rack integration.
