The Telefunken ELA M 260 Master Set is among the rare small diaphragm tube microphones in production today, pairing a vintage-inspired NOS Philips 5840W vacuum tube amplifier with three interchangeable, thread-on TK6x Series capsules — TK60 Cardioid, TK61 Omnidirectional, and TK62 Hypercardioid — for complete polar pattern flexibility in a single system. Hand-assembled in the USA with a custom American-made Telefunken Elektroakustik T60 output transformer, the ELA M 260 delivers the transient precision of a small diaphragm condenser alongside the tonal warmth and character that define classic tube recording. The Master Set ships as a complete system — microphone, three capsules, power supply, shock mount, cable, and case — suited to engineers and producers who record across a broad range of acoustic sources and session types. From strings and brass to woodwind, percussion, and drum overheads, the ELA M 260 offers tonal detail and an open top end that reward close, critical listening.
