Introducing the V13 Gen2

The Vanguard Audio Labs V13 Gen2 is a large-diaphragm, multi-pattern tube condenser microphone, re-imagined to combine smooth modern detail with vintage warmth and character. With an upgraded power supply, premium cryogenically-treated tube circuitry, audiophile-grade resistors, Neutrik® interconnects, and a VLSM shockmount, the V13 is designed to be your go-to microphone for vocals and instruments alike.

Gen2 Upgrades

The V13 Gen2 features key improvements including an even lower signal-to-noise ratio and enhanced sound staging. The power supply has been redesigned for more clean headroom, while the fit and finish of every mechanical component have been improved for both aesthetics and performance. A custom CineMag transformer version is also available for even smoother sonics, offering a unique tonal experience.

Designed and assembled in California, the V13 undergoes a rigorous quality control process. Each microphone is tested for audio and visual performance before being hand-packed. The V13 is built to be robust and reliable, featuring heavy-duty brass, stainless steel, aluminum, and zinc construction, with components that are cryogenically treated to enhance their lifespan and performance. Every V13 comes backed by Vanguard’s five-year warranty.

Performance

With the character of iconic vintage tube microphones in mind, the V13 delivers warm, full lows, precise midrange, and buttery-smooth high-end. Its forgiving nature makes it suitable for a wide range of vocal styles and timbres, while its incredibly low noise floor ensures a pristine recording quality. The V13 features a 34mm edge-terminated, gold-sputtered dual-capsule assembly with premium-grade components, including a hand-selected European vacuum tube and a custom-wound, dual-bobbin humbucking transformer.
