Performance
The V4 is crafted with the characteristics of classic FET microphones in mind while incorporating modern technology to meet the demands of today’s recording professionals. The ultra-thin 3µm edge-terminated capsule diaphragms are highly sensitive, capturing every nuance and detail of a performance. The V4 includes a -10/-20dB pad option for added versatility, and the signal and power paths are identical to a single channel of the V44S, providing a clean and full character that rivals much more expensive microphones.
Thoughtful Design
The V4 is precision-built to “no-compromise” standards, featuring a custom-voiced 34mm edge-terminated capsule mounted in an open-weave headbasket for a natural sound with low internal reflections. The transformerless solid-state circuit is loaded with premium-grade components, including an American-made audiophile-grade transistor that delivers significant improvements in audio quality, headroom, distortion, sound-stage, and noise floor. Neutrik® interconnects ensure the best possible signal preservation, and the microphone’s stainless steel body is finished in Vanguard’s signature Pinot Noir with polished nickel trim.
