The Vanguard VSSM is a heavy-duty, professional-grade shockmount designed to provide microphones with long-lasting, high-grade support.

Re-Imagined Design

Vanguard’s chief engineer was the first to popularize the “tube” style shockmount for pencil condensers, but Vanguard sought to build an improved version to deliver the best possible isolation mount for microphones. The VSSM features an inner diameter widened to 37.5mm, safely supporting microphones up to 30mm in diameter, making it compatible with pencil condensers, ribbon microphones, and medium-diaphragm condensers.

The VSSM also features a 240º window, allowing easy access to pads, rolloffs, or pattern switches on the microphone without affecting placement. Aerospace-grade rubberized suspension rings replace flimsy elastic bands, providing firm support and preventing unwanted rumble and vibration. These rings won’t break, sag, crack, or stretch over time. The bands can be positioned either horizontally/vertically or diagonally to provide a more secure grip for differently-sized microphones.

Wide Compatibility

The VSSM comes as a standard accessory for the Vanguard V1 Multi-Capsule Pencil Condenser Kit. It is compatible with a wide variety of condenser, ribbon, shotgun, and dynamic microphones from various brands with a diameter of up to 30mm. Consult the list below for compatible microphone models.
