WesAudio NG78 Stereo FET Compressor

The NG78 reimagines the classic 1176-style FET compressor for modern hybrid production. This fully analog stereo compressor delivers +24dBu of headroom and five ratio settings (2:1, 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, 20:1) including the legendary All-Button Mode, while adding contemporary features that bridge analog circuitry with digital workflow integration. A Carnhill transformer output stage provides authentic analog weight, while WesAudio’s proprietary Dynamic Link Technology ensures perfect stereo balance across every parameter combination by adaptively compensating for component tolerances in the sidechain. With total recall, plug-in control via USB or Ethernet, dedicated parallel compression mixing, and a standalone saturation mode, the NG78 offers vintage FET aggression with the flexibility modern productions demand.

Key Features:

  • Five Ratio Settings with All-Button Mode: Choose from 2:1, 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, and 20:1 compression ratios including the classic All-Button Mode, plus an extended attack range starting from slower values for natural transient control.
  • Dynamic Link Technology: Proprietary adaptive circuit compensates for component tolerances in the sidechain signal, ensuring perfect stereo balance during compression regardless of parameter settings.
  • Advanced Dual-Section Sidechain EQ: Independent high-pass filter (60Hz / 90Hz / 150Hz) preserves low-end punch while a high shelf (2kHz / 5kHz / 10kHz) emphasizes mid/high content for precise detector response.
  • Total Recall and Plug-in Control: Seamless DAW integration via USB or Ethernet enables full parameter automation, hardware A/B switching, and instant recall for modern hybrid workflows with pure analog signal integrity.
  • Dedicated Saturation Mode: Simultaneously adjusts input and output with compression circuit disabled, transforming the NG78 into a dedicated saturation box or clipper for creative analog coloration.
  • Carnhill Transformer Output Stage: British-made output transformers add analog weight and character, while selectable THD modes (Low, Mid, High) provide tailored harmonic enhancement from the FET circuit.
  • Parallel Compression via MIX Control: Dedicated mix knob blends compressed and uncompressed signals within the unit, eliminating the need for external routing or DAW bussing.
