WesAudio ngBusComp

The WesAudio ngBusComp is a next-generation bus compressor with digital recall and automation. Built on the legacy of stereo bus compressors that have shaped countless mixes for over 40 years, ngBusComp elevates the classic design with modern digital integration. This fully analog dual mono, stereo, and mid-side compressor offers the perfect blend of analog warmth and cutting-edge precision, making it an essential tool for any audio engineer.

Main Features

  • Fully analog design with a +24dBu headroom for exceptional signal clarity.
  • Supports both dual mono and stereo compression modes.
  • Features mid-side processing for enhanced flexibility in stereo imaging.
  • Two selectable output stages: electronically balanced and transformer balanced (IRON mode).
  • Integrated MIX knob for parallel compression.
  • Flexible DAW integration with real-time recall via plugin control.
  • Proprietary THD control for adjustable harmonic distortion.
  • Sidechain filter options for more precise signal control.
  • Detailed input, output, and gain reduction metering on both channels.

Analog Sound, Digital Control

The ngBusComp provides true analog sound with the convenience of digital control. Featuring QUAD VCA THAT 2181 for high-performance compression, this compressor maintains its fully analog signal path while offering seamless DAW integration for easy recall and automation.

Versatile Stereo/Dual Mono Compression

With ngBusComp, you can link or unlink detectors at any time, allowing for either stereo bus compression or dual mono compression as needed. For even more control, mid-side processing enables different compression settings for the middle and side channels, giving you complete control over the stereo image.

Carnhill Transformer Drive

In IRON mode, the ngBusComp uses Carnhill transformers to drive the output stage, creating musical saturation. A passive attenuator (IRON PAD) allows for precise level control when driving the transformer for warm, vintage tone.

Flexible Sidechain and Ratio Options

The ngBusComp includes high-pass and tilt filters in the sidechain, allowing you to control the signal that reaches the compressor. With five selectable ratios from 1.5:1 to INF, you can adjust the compression for a wide range of applications, from gentle mixbus compression to aggressive limiting.

Advanced Digital Features

  • Hardware A/B/C – Compare three memory settings at the push of a button.
  • USB or Ethernet Connectivity – Easily manage your ngBusComp via USB or over a local network.
