KSD A500: Powerful Phase-Aligned Monitoring

The KSD A500 is the flagship of KSD’s A Class series, arguably delivering the most revealing three-way monitoring experience you’ll hear in a monitor of this size. In this video, Brian from Providence Sound and Vision explores what makes the A500 exceptional.

Like all KSD monitors, the A500 is powered by their proprietary FIRTEC system: a DSP platform that phase-aligns every driver in the system with surgical precision, achieving ultra-low latency measured in samples rather than milliseconds. This means you get all the benefits of FIR processing, such as crystal-clear imaging and truthful soundstage reproduction, without the typical latency penalties commonly found in other digital systems. This level of time-domain accuracy benefits all genres, bringing unrivaled clarity to complex arrangements and dense modern productions.

The A500 features a three-way design: dual 10-inch bass drivers, a dedicated 3-inch dome midrange, and a horn-loaded 1-inch compression tweeter with a precision waveguide. The dedicated midrange driver plays a crucial role here, bringing lifelike clarity and nuance to vocals and upper-mid content, while the horn-loaded tweeter maintains detail and tonal balance across a wide listening area, freeing you from being locked to a single listening position.

The dual 10-inch woofers deliver powerful, fast, and focused bass that easily fills mid-sized control rooms with authoritative low-end reproduction. For larger spaces, the B500 subwoofer can be added to create a MainMaster system capable of delivering enormous bass at club-level volumes while maintaining the surgical precision that defines the A500’s character.

The A500 comes equipped with both analog XLR and digital AES connectivity. The digital input skips unnecessary analog-to-digital conversion stages, preserving signal integrity and minimizing latency. The A500 comes equipped with built-in shelving EQ, while the optional KSD RC remote unlocks further control with a 6-band EQ, level adjustment, and M/S monitoring.

With phase alignment across the entire frequency spectrum and truly three-dimensional stereo imaging, the A500 instills confidence in every mix decision. When your work needs to translate flawlessly across streaming, vinyl, and broadcast, this level of surgical imaging makes all the difference.

The KSD A500 is now available and ready to demo anywhere in the U.S. Providence Sound and Vision offers personal consultation to help you find the right monitoring solution for your room, workflow, and budget.
