Tom Hilbe Equipment

T.H.E. Company, the work of builder Tom Hilbe, draws directly from the most celebrated circuits in recording history. In 2008, the company brokered and restored a Metropolitan desk built in-house by Motown circa 1965, then reconfigured its mic preamp design for the 500 series using N.O.S. Beyer input transformers, N.O.S. 709 op-amps, and Jensen output transformers. That same devotion to vintage character drives the Mo68, built around the Melcor op-amp first released in 1967, and the BOHO active ribbon microphone, voiced for vivid, natural detail on acoustic instruments. Every T.H.E. design favors musicality, serviceability, and a straight path to great sound.
